Safety Guide in handing enzymes
Please read the following safety tips/guidelines beforehand in handling the enzymes.
APPLICATION
Being extracted from various sources of microorganism, animals and plants, TOYOBO enzymes are mainly applied to diagnostic use, NOT to use in human or animal bodies.
POSSIBLE RISK
Eye/skin irritation, coughing, or other allergic reactions may occur when you have direct contact, inhalation or ingestion of the enzymes, which could possibly lead to more severe symptoms like asthma.
FIRST AID
Eye/skin contact: Wash off with plentiful amount of water. Inhalation: Move out for fresh air to breathe and gargle. Ingestion: Swill plentiful amount of water for immediate vomiting.
* In any of the above events get a consult with physician soon after.
PERSONAL PROTECTION
Wear gloves, goggles, mask and long sleeve working wear.
Note: The above safety guides are based on conditions in which only trained laboratory personnel handle the enzymes for diagnostic application complying with appropriate level of safety procedures for which the users are responsible. Should you use the enzymes for another application, be sure to provide safety measures which correspond to the application.

To keep the enzymes active
Enzymes may lose their activity because of humidity, increase in temperature, or other unsuitable conditions during storage or upon usage. Refer to the following tips to keep them active.
PERSONAL PROTECTION
Optimum storage temperature may vary by enzyme form.Keep the lyophilized form of enzymes in frozen state(-20ºC)and liquid form of enzymes in refrigerated state(4ºC). Containers should stay unopened. Provide low humidity and dark environment. Some enzymes may decompose with light.
UPON USAGE ( of Lyophilized Enzymes)
After taking enzyme container out of freezer, do not open it immediately but have it unopened at room temperatureat for at least 3 hours, which gives the enzyme time to get used to the new condition.
Otherwise the enzyme may absorb moisture and lose its activity due to the immediate exposure to rapidly increased temperature. In opening the container, take the following steps to prevent the enzymes from popping out of the container in fluffy shape because the change in temperature may slightly elevate the pressure inside.
- Take off the sealing tape attached to the cap.
- Slightly loosen the cap and have it for 1-2 minutes as it is, which adjusts the pressure.
- Remove the cap (and inside cap, if any) slowly.
